A Springtime Escape to Canakkale: Ceramics and Breakfast Bliss

In April, I embarked on a delightful journey to Çanakkale, a charming town nestled on the northwest coast of Turkiye, rich in history and tradition. My primary goal was to explore the local manufacturers, renowned for their craftsmanship and vibrant designs.

As I wandered through the workshops, I was greeted by the warm smiles of artisans dedicated to their craft. Each piece I encountered told a story, infused with the spirit of the region. The intricate patterns and vivid colours not only showcased their skill but also reflected the rich cultural heritage of Çanakkale. From delicate plates to stunning vases, I was captivated by the artistry that has been passed down through generations.

Each morning, I indulged in a classic Turkish breakfast, served under the gentle spring sunlight. The spread was a feast for the senses, featuring fresh bread, ripe tomatoes, creamy feta, and olives of every variety. And let’s not forget the golden honey and rich, aromatic Turkish tea.

As I reflect on my time there, I am grateful not just for the opportunities but also for the new friendships forged in this vibrant region. I can’t wait to return and discover more of what this lovely region has to offer in July 2026.
